TWG Tea
Maintain and improve the performance of a site by helping the client to redesign its site
TWG Tea, founded in Singapore in 2008, is a luxury tea brand offering over 1,000 varieties, including rare teas and exclusive blends from 47 regions. Known for its iconic teas such as ‘1837 Black Tea’, TWG is present in prestigious venues such as the Ritz Paris and offers a premium experience in shop and online.
The challenge
TWG Tea wanted to redesign the graphics of its website. The short-term objective was to avoid any drop in traffic, and the long-term goal was to improve the site's positioning and organic traffic. To achieve this, we applied a three-stage methodology: pre-launch, launch and post-launch.
The project and its results
To support our client in redesigning its website, we applied a three-stage methodology: pre-launch, launch and post-launch.
The pre-launch phase
During this phase, we audited the client's site in order to identify the points that were currently blocking its natural referencing. This audit covered both the semantic and technical aspects of the site. Our aim was to provide precise recommendations so that the client could be made aware of the importance of incorporating corrective measures when redesigning the site, in order to provide Google's spiders with an optimized site. Semantic optimizations were also made to the site's strategic pages, and integrated into the new version of the site in order not only to maintain but also to improve their positioning. We also drew up a redirect table to ensure that all the pages whose structure would be modified with the redesign were redirected to the new structure, again with the aim of maintaining the site's current performance.
The launch phase
During this phase, we tested the pre-production version of the site in order to prepare for the launch. The idea here was to identify any potential bottlenecks to the proper deployment of the site and to correct them before it went live.
When the site went live, we also tested the online version to check that no new errors had appeared in the meantime.
The post-launch phase
During this phase, we continued to support the client in deploying certain fixes, as well as improving the content on the site. We also monitored the associated results to check that the site had not been affected by the redesign.
